Nothing could have possibly prepared me for the ways in which "Overdrive" the song, which started as this very humble demo, changed my life forever. Not only did this tune change my life, but it truly set my life up at a very young age and gave me the monumental gift of being able to be a working artist in this modern world. What a gift!
I wrote "Overdrive," recorded this demo, and began singing this song when I was fourteen years old. It was the song that organized my first record deal and tours. I have been preforming it at every single show I've played since it was written, so it has been something of a constant companion (or an off-beat, teenage spirit animal of sorts) in my life. It's been such a cool experience for us making this OVERDRIVE EP for "Mean Girls Day" and rearranging the song to fit such a myriad of musical and production variation! It's also been a lot of fun reintroducing myself to the angsty 14 year old within me. She's big! Thank you so much for listening and for taking this trip down memory lane with me.
